最近,我利用周末时间,上网学习了林丽等几位名师的课堂,如译林版小学英语四年级下册Unit5 Seasons 的第一二三课时,颇有感触。让我印象最深刻的是名师们在课堂上不断给予学生空间,帮助学生自主学习,增强了学生的自主学习能力。现以林丽老师的第三课时为例:
案例三:译林版英语四年级下册 Unit5《Seasons》(period 3)
T: Let’s come to the last one---write poems.But talk about the writing, if we want to write about the seasons,what can we write about?
S1: Color
S2:Activities
S3:Animals
S4: Food and drink
S5: Clothes
T: You can have your ideas too. So we can write different things.
T: But how can we write about the four seasons?
S1: 当我们写诗的时候,没写完一段就要空一行,每一句都要占一行, 每一行都要大写
T (屏幕上出示):转行 每行首字母大写 诗歌美感
Let me reminds you: ?we should try to make other feels good when he is reading your poem.?And if you write a collection of poems in your groups, you should try to choose one aspect.
For example:
Spring is a good season.
I like the beautiful co lours in spring.
The sky is blue.
The trees are green.
the flowers are red,yellow,pink,purple...
I draw pictures of spring.
I love spring.

T: What is the poem focus on? T: What is the poem focus on?
Ss: Food and drink. Ss: Colour.
T: Yes, you’re right. T:Great!
T: Do you know the meaning of “choosing one aspect”?
Ss: Yes.
T: So, now can you finish the collection of your poems in groups?
Ss: Yes.
把思考的机会交给学生。林老师在教学生创作诗歌这一过程时,没有直接告诉学生该怎么写,而是选择通过“三次放手”事实,帮助学生总结写作规则和方法。首先,教师提出,“If we want to write about the four seasons,what can we write?”这一问题,启发学生自主思考,学生根据热身环节与教师的交流,很自然的总结出可以从:Color, Acclivities ,Animals ,Food and drink, Clothes...这几个方面进行写作。接着,教师又通过What should we pay attention to?这一问题,把学生的注意力转移到文本结构上,学生根据以往的经历,总结出:“当我们写诗的时候,每写完一段就要空一行,每一句都要占一行,每一行都要大写”。然后,在这基础上,教师根据诗歌的特殊性,再提出新的建议:“ make others feel good”, “choose one aspect”,写诗歌时选择一个方面,并赋予美感。为了更好地让学生更好地体会什么叫做“ make others feel good” “focus on one aspect.”,教师又呈现了不同的范本。通过提出问题,呈现事例的方式有效实现了上“三次放手”,学生不仅收获了知识技能,还收获了学习策略。这远比教师直接告诉他们方法要来的有效。
教师在英语课堂中多放手,能有效提升小学生的自主学习能力。林老师的课堂就是最好的体现。但是,小学生的英语自主学习能力不是一朝一夕就能达到的,需要我们教师不仅要学会在课堂上要“有所为”,更要懂得“有所不为”,需要我们教师学会给学生留有空间和余地,需要教师在教育教学工作中注重过程,循序渐进,不断探索和完善,从根本上培养其能力,以更好地适应社会的发展。
